Relax, rejuvenate with Interlaken Inn’s on-site spa, fitness center, pool, tennis and pickle ball courts

Vacationing by a beautiful lake is the perfect way to relax. But now the Interlaken Inn, set on 30 acres between Lake Wononscopomuc and Lake Wononpakook, has found a way to up the relaxation factor: on-site spa services. At the Peace of Mind spa in the inn’s Atrium Building, you can sink into comfort with a customized signature massage, or a hot stone or bamboo massage — or relax together with a couple’s massage. The spa also offers foot massages and scrubs. In-room massages can be requested. The Interlaken Inn’s fitness center runs classes in everything from cycling to pilates, yoga and weight training. There are tennis and pickle ball courts, a seasonal outdoor heated pool and kayaks and canoes to use at the lake.

Macedonia Brook State Park offers 51 sites in a rustic setting. The camping season begins in mid-April and ends September 30.

Local farms, bakeries, coffee roaster among 20 featured vendors

Stock up on goods from local farms, including meats, produce, fresh-roasted coffee beans, and more at this outdoor market that takes place under a pavilion.

Summer 2024 Hours: 3-6 p.m. Fridays through October 11

Locally produced fruits and vegetables as well as creations of some artisans from the region are featured. Also: breads, cheese, eggs, honey, syrup, plants, flowers, herbs. There's live music and occasional chef demonstrations or children's activities. The market is in front of Town Hall in summer and inside Town Hall in winter; a holiday market is conducted in November and December.

Dates and Hours: early June through mid-October; Saturdays, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Crops: Strawberries and cherries, June and July; raspberries, blueberries, plus, peaches (July and August); peaches, blueberries, (August and September); apples, peaches, blueberries, pears (September and October); apples, pumpkins, gourds, pears (October and November). Seasons and Hours: June to November, daily, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Cash payment only in picking fields.

Hours: PYO Hours: August 15 to Thanksgiving, daily, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; November 1-25, daily, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Also: Farm stand with cider, apple cider donuts, cut flowers, jams and jellies, pies, pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn, mums, maple syrup, honey, cheddar cheese, garlic, potatoes, some tomatoes, and gifts. After Thanksgiving, Christmas trees are sold until December 24. Any remaining apples are sold from cold storage.
